BLOG POST #3,374 AT THE AICP-END

285 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY 2020
Is there a reason as to WHY NPR and PBS still exist?
Valencia, CA 91354, 01-26-2020 Sunday:  National Public Radio- NPR- is one of those anachronisms that one wonders WHY it is still with us and even more importantly, why U.S. tax dollars continue subsidizing this relic.  Recently, a NPR reporter- Mary Louise Kelly- released a fantastical statement about how Secretary of State Mike Pompeo verbally abused and threatened her after an interview regarding the topic du jour- Ukraine- and whether President Trump broke the law by supposedly withholding U.S. assistance and by recalling Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch.
I am amazed at the lengths to which the Fake News Media will go to tarnish anyone working within or with the Trump administration.  I do not believe that Secretary Pompeo mistreated Ms. Kelly in any way, shape, or form, because it does not fit his persona- we have never seen him misbehave in the manner she claims he did.
What’s more, I believe that everyone working in the anti-Trump news media will say or do anything and then several days or a couple of weeks later will admit that it ‘really didn’t occur but it could have.’  What?
The NPR reporter- Ms. Kelly- claimed that after she had an interview with Secretary Pompeo, one that appears to have gone well and lacked any sort of hostility, she was then ushered into his private living room off his office where he berated her, used the ‘F-word’ among other foul language, demanded she pick out on Ukraine on a map, which she claims she did but which other sources says she didn’t, and woe with her, another brush with the Fake News Media.
I would hope that when President Trump wins re-election in November that one of the things he will do is to pull the rug out from under National (Dinosaur) Public Radio just as the government should PBS because the era of the federal government supporting any ‘public’ radio or television network is over and gone.
What’s more, the fact that PBS and NPR are as left-wing as they come demonstrates that they cannot be impartial arbiters of American news and social programming any more than RT can function independently of Vladimir Putin or Al-Jazeera can of Islamist thugs.  It is what it is and no public news media channels should be allowed to continue.
As for the Ukraine and fired U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch (what and who is all the rage right now), the president has the right to terminate anyone in the Executive Branch of government.  Every president has the right to recall an ambassador not doing his or her bidding or worse, doing the bidding of a prior administration as Ambassador Yovanovitch was doing on behalf of the Obama administration so enough with the crying.  Wipe the snot away, dab the tears, enough.
It is not as if Ms. Yovanovitch loses her employment with the U.S. government or any of the perks that come with it; no, she is brought home and can be reassigned or not, depending upon the president’s and secretary of state’s wishes.
From all accounts, it sounds as though she was actively working against the wishes of the Trump administration to the point that Ukrainian government officials pointed that out to, I believe, the president’s personal emissary to the region- Rudy Giuliani- that they felt it important enough to demand her recall, to get on the next flight out of Kiev and return to the United States.
As for the Ukraine, as with any former Soviet-era republic, corruption is endemic, right down to the DNA making up the fabric of the society.  Nations such as the Ukraine are places where unscrupulous Deep State denizens and vice presidents go to reap huge windfalls as it seems FIVE members of the former vice president and current presidential candidate Joe Biden’s family have.  What is up with that?
In closing for the week, let me say this: if the Democrats manage to strip away presidential power and in return give us some sort of parliamentary system in which the ruling party appoints the ‘president’ who is in reality, a prime minister, one who does their bidding, we will become more European overnight.  It’s what they want but not what most everyone else wants as it will castrate our nation.
Friends, I have no clue as to where we will be in six months but I will be back- God willing- in the middle of an election year, one for the books.  Let us push back on the people seeking to undermine the Trump administration and continue making America great again and keeping America great.
See you next time.  Tomorrow: Bea O’Malley will be here.
